"Writing is another powerful way to sharpen the mental saw. Keeping a journal of our thoughts, experiences, insights, and learnings promotes mental clarity, exactness, and context."~ Stephen R. Covey
As a teacher of writing and grammar, it's a no-brainer that I should take the time to write regularly, at the very least as a best practice. As I am sure you know all too well, theory and practice, do not always coincide so easily in the real-world.
This is a challenge to myself and an opportunity for me to "sharpen the saw."
In addition to my already-existing classroom blog, MsWillipedia.com, this site (and its blog) will go beyond my day-to-day lessons and school announcements. Here you will find my thoughts on the awesomeness of teaching (yes, I'm taking a little poetic license by using that invented word), my experiences with ed tech, reflections on educational policy, and various related topics of the sort. Furthermore, you will gain access to my professional development session notes (and upcoming online courses) as well as how to contact me for speaking and workshop engagments.
Education is a marvelous profession that offers so many opportunities. Here is my foray further into such opportunities. Hopefully you will enjoy embarking upon this exploration with me.
